As you advance, you'll have access to better traps, starting with simpler ones at first. Your adversaries will become more dangerous the longer you play.
Starting with a tiny foundation built around one of the point square spawners is a smart move. You will get a head start and have quick access to point squares in this manner.
Your score bar will fill up as a result of defeated adversaries dropping point squares. You can select a bomb trap, more life, more speed, or an upgrade once it's filled. You have to decide on your own course.
